Player Story
As highly-rated and prodigiously talented young batter-wicketkeeper, James Rew became the youngest Englishman to score 10 first-class centuries since Denis Compton in 1939, reaching the mark at 21 years and 114 days. Rew was first called into England's Test squad in 2025 as cover for a one-off Test v Zimbabwe. His Test debut came in June 2026 in the second Test of the series against New Zealand at The Oval - one of three debutants in the match. The 22-year-old was a last-minute replacement for regular England wicketkeepr Jamie Smith, who missed the Test on parental leave.
