Player Story
Brydon Carse is the latest in the long line of South African-born England representatives although he had always had access to a UK passport through his father James, who played for Northamptonshire in the 1980s. The strapping quick first came onto the national scene with an England Lions call up in 2019 and he was in the ODI side by 2021 as Covid ravaged the first-choice squad. Carse forced his way into the Test set up and made his debut in Multan in 2024 and toured New Zealand the following month, taking a 10-wicket haul in his third Test, Christchurch. Handy with the bat too, Carse hit his maiden half-century against India in 2025.
