Player Story

A diminutive and destructive opener, Ben Duckett made his Test debut on England’s dual tours of Bangladesh and India in 2016, as a player with a reputation of being a strong sweeper and accomplished against spin. Duckett played four Tests but then had six years in the international wilderness; it wasn’t until England toured Pakistan in the ‘Bazball' era that he regained his spot in the side. He cemented his spot with 107 in Rawalpindi and 182 not out against Ireland at Lord’s in 2023. His innings in Rajkot in 2024, where he made 153 at better than a run-a-ball, is perhaps the finest of his career. The left-hander forced his way into the ODI side after England disastrous 2023 World Cup and he score a huge 165 against Australia at the 2025 Champions Trophy. Duckett has represented the Brisbane Heat (BBL|11) and the Melbourne Stars (BBL|14) in the Big Bash League.
